New Dimensions Soccer participated in the 9th Annual Mike Mullen Day, facilitated by the St. Louis Mullen Foundation on Saturday, May 18th. New Dimensions Soccer was one of four local non-profits selected to participate in the annual event, which raises money for St. Louis causes in honor of St. Louis native and activist, Mike Mullen. The event took place at Alpha Brewing Company and raised over $24,000 for New Dimensions Soccer, Little Patriots Embraced, CHADS Coalition for Mental Health, SAVING GRACE (Giving Rescue Animals Chances Everyday). New Dimensions Soccer and SLU partner to provide service learning opportunities for students

SLU theology professor, Dr. Jay Hammond, has jumped on the trend of experiential education by partnering his classroom with New Dimensions Soccer. New Dimensions has brought soccer to urban communities in St. Louis with large immigrant and refugee populations. In after school programs, New Dimensions uses soccer to help provide character development with youth, and provides free soccer to those who cannot afford it. SLU’s Social Gospel and Sports, Religion, & Spirituality classes partnered with New Dimensions’ after school programs, providing student volunteers to help coach and mentor participants in the program.
